FAQ & PRICING

Series of images of Bride and Groom posing at Mellon Park, Pittsburgh.

I am a hybrid photographer who shoots film in natural light and digital at night.

First of all you should remember that I am a hybrid fine art photographer, fluent in both digital & analog photography. I work with film and film loves light. I think you are reading this now because you loved my work. And the way of getting those airy, light pictures is to shoot mostly outside and to use the maximum of the daylight. So if you are planning a wedding with a ceremony, reception and everything inside, very late and mostly after the sunset, maybe I’m not the photographer that you need, anyway send me an email and we can discuss it! I strive to create timeless images with a fine art editorial sensibility. I have a deep passion for expressing the most humble and authentic moments through fluid imagery by focusing on the gentle and the sincere. It is important for me to tell the story, curating all the details and trying to show the whole atmosphere of the day.

FAQ

Do you shoot film or digital?

Actually I use both mediums! I’m what you may call a “Hybrid Photographer.” I integrate film/analog photography along side of using my digital camera.

Do you work with an assistant or a second photographer?

Yes! If you are having a smaller wedding I will have an assistant with me. If you are having a larger wedding I will have an assistant/second photographer with me.

Do you have backup equipment?

Yes, I do!

How and when do I get my images?

Excellent question! All of my film images get processed and scanned into digital format. I need about 4 weeks to process your images.

How many images do you deliver?

This answer depends on many factors such as the time of shooting, the venue,  and the amount of details. Integrating film into my workflow forces me to be deliberate and intentional with every click of the shutter. My philosophy on this subject is truly quality rather than quantity. On average for 8 hours of wedding day coverage, clients could expect around 500 images.

What should we consider when booking you as our photographer?

Film loves light. And the way of getting those airy, light pictures is to shoot mostly outside and to use the maximum of the daylight. So if you are planning a wedding with a ceremony, reception and everything inside, very late and mostly after the sunset, may be I’m not the photographer that you need.

Timing! Try to consider the “golden hour” (one or two hours before the sunset) for your couple portraits, that’s the time when the light is dreamy, warm and beautiful and we can create the most captivating and charming pictures for you.

It is important for me to tell the story, curating all the details and trying to show the whole atmosphere of the day.

I love seeing true emotions and capturing them. I will work with you and/or your planner to help determine a timeline for your wedding day.

All of my weddings include a proof print collection  + presentation box.

How far in advance should we book you?

To ensure that your date is available, clients usually book a year their wedding date. Depending on my availability, you can book your date 6 months, 3 months, or even a week in advance! If you have any questions feel free to email me @ info@jimchiesa.com or visit my Contact page.
